When the Viscount Seduces by Darcy Burke

When the Viscount Seduces by Darcy Burke is the third book in the Rogue Rules series. The series is predicated on a group of young women who banded together as friends and came up with a list of things to avoid so they are not the victim of a rogue and therefore ostracized from society.  They are determined to be difficult to woo, in order to secure the love of one man to be their happily ever after.

Gwendolen Price is clumsy, mostly because she has her head often in the clouds pondering different things.  She is bookish and doesn’t understand the arbitrary rules of high society. She is a walking disaster, but her parents are trying to help her be the best she can and find a husband.

Lazarus Rowe, the Viscount Somerton, struggles to read and write.  He needs someone to help him write and read, so he can give a speech to the House of Lords.

Gwen and Lazarus agree to help each other.  They plan a series of meetings using mutual friends and family.  Lazarus is seeing the results of his reading.  Gwen has men asking her to dance and promenade with them.  Seemingly this is a success for both of them. EXCEPT they have feelings for each other.
I love reading Darcy Burke’s books.  Her characters are interesting and often a little quirky.  I love the situations they find themselves in and how they attempt to get out of them, but end up in a deeper hole.  When the Viscount Seduces by Darcy Burke is a fun read.
