The Two of Us by Lori Foster and Maisey Yates. The book contains two novellas about rescue animals. The authors will be donating a portion of the proceeds from this book to animal rescue organizations.
The Odd Couple by Lori Foster is the first novella. Ford Cruso and Skye Fairchild are neighbors. Skye has an unwelcome (almost stalkerish) boyfriend who will not leave her alone. Ford agrees to help her convince him to move on. Meanwhile Skye is thinking about getting a dog but is concerned about caring for one. Together they come up with a bargain and leave the animal shelter with two dogs who are bonded together. While learning about the animals and avoiding the stalking, Ford and Skye become close, very close, but is it real?
Force of Nature by Maisey Yates is the second novella. In this story, Lydia Clay saves animals, all kinds of animals. Recently a new dog, Hank shows up and Lydia knows she has to bring him to Remington Lane. The dog (and later some horses) were in bad shape. Remington had a hard young life so finding out the animals had been his fathers did not make it easier. Lydia offered to help the animals, especially the dog, become more comfortable. All that time together might have opened up more than the animal’s hearts. Remington and Lydia are a fun couple.
The Two of Us by Lori Foster and Maisey Yates is a great read.
