The Summer I Found You by Jennifer O’Brien

The Summer I Found You by Jennifer O’Brien is a contemporary romance.  There is also a strong flavor of finding yourself and realizing who you are and where you belong.  There is a mixture of characters – not all of them were nice.

Dahlia is leaving a horrid marriage and going to start over on North Fork’s Island.  She was left her Aunt’s home and is going to clean it out, fix it up and sell it.   While cleaning she discovered items that don’t fit into the story she has of her family.  She also met the next door neighbor, Noah,  who is using her aunt’s barn to build furniture.

Noah is one of the stars on a rehab show and is on hiatus.  He is building furniture for his sister’s new restaurant.  He is significantly hot and obviously interested in her.  Dahlia is interested but knows she is leaving the island and he is younger than her.

The novel is full of artists and creative people.  The gardens and the ocean are almost another character in the story.  Noah and Dahlia are HOT together, but secrets always cause problems.  The Summer I Found You by Jennifer O’Brien is going to be a great summer read.
