The Best Way to Bury Your Husband by Alexia Casale is a fun read! The book is a book that reminds us – that we can do anything with support and help. Of course, the presumption is that it won’t include murder, mayhem, and dismemberment. The strength of the five women against the husbands, noisy neighbors, lockdown restrictions and COVID is remarkable with each woman hiding the bruises.
It all starts with Sally and then Ruth follows soon after. Samira is next with Janey following soon after. That is when it gets serious with how to dispose of a dead husband without being caught. The stories that lead up to this point are given as a part of the build up. The women’s bond is so positive despite the situation. I love how they are so honest, at least with themselves. I found myself chuckling at the plumber and the daughter moving in. I also very much enjoyed the nosy neighbor.
It might be called a dark comedy, but I found the book also could be uplifting and show the strength that women have despite all that life can throw at them. The end was just priceless. The Best Way to Bury Your Husband by Alexia Casale is a great read.
