Six Days

And the countdown is on!  Tomorrow starts 6 days of staff development.  A term that has been known to cause me to hide under the sheets and or break out in hives.  Especially with so many new members of the administration to deal with and new rules to work with.  However, it is what I do to keep my teaching license up to date gathering credit hours from staff developments, workshops, webinars etc. I know in many parts of the country school has started already.  I wish them well.  I think Elise’s commitments have started as well with her school.

Last week and this week I fell into a time/space trap.  While waiting for one of my games to reload, I paid attention to the ad and started to read a story – the first few chapters.  Later that day another ad started a different story and again I started to read. Before you knew it I was dragged in.  I am not going to go into the specifics for the site, except to say it was expensive and irritating.  After the first couple of days, I was given only one very short chapter every 8 hours that I could read, unless I had coins (to buy) or joined the app for 7.99 a WEEK.  Yup.  I actually thought about it and then visited amazon where I found the book (as a book) and was able to download the entire book for a fraction of the price.  The app was so expensive that it surprised me – certainly more a month than any of my streaming services.   By the way the book was True Luna:  Rejected by My Mate by Tessa Lilly.

Tomorrow Jodi Piccoult’s newest book is released.  It is called, By Any Other Name.   I am currently reading it and will have the review up by next week.  The story line goes between modern times and Shakespeare’s time.

Elise sent in a book review from Rhys Bowen’s newest book The Rose Arbor,  It sounds quite interesting.  She also sent in a new author interview with Shelley Shepard Gray.  The novel consists of grandchildren trying out their Amish grandparents’ way of life for a year.  I am sure culture shock will be a huge component of the ‘visit’.
