Self-Help for Serial Killers by Asia Mackay

Self-Help for Serial Killers by Asia Mackay was an unusual read that had some zany scenes.  This is the second book in the series A Serial Killers Guide to Marriage.  The novel focused on the couple, Hazel and Fox.  Married, living in the suburbs with two children added stresses they were not expecting.  What made the situation so off-beat was that Hazel and Fox were killers.  They “removed” people who needed to go due to their life choices.  They had help from Haze’s best friend and her family.

The novel follows Hazel and Fox as they try to keep up their “hobby” with all the various things that could go so badly.  On top of that Fox is having trouble based on his kidnapping and has entered therapy with “Sally”.  Haze has been approached by one of the school “moms” and is forced into a mom group on top of an interesting proposition between another couple.

What makes this novel so much fun are the unusual situations they get into with dead bodies needing to be “removed”, and blood in unusual places.  I found myself chuckling in certain places.  I found the book read quickly while I totally enjoyed reading it. This book can be read as a stand alone, which I did but now  I have the prior book and am looking forward to reading it!

Self-Help for Serial Killers by Asia Mackay was a kooky, unusual novel that was a good read.
