A New Year is upon us. One I have to admit, I am nervous about. I am working on reminding myself that hope springs eternal for more than just baseball. My personal goals have much to do with taking care of myself by eating better (more veggies) and making choices to start to clean out. However, let’s be real, if I have the choice I will always choose to read first.
I haven’t heard of a lot of people who have made resolutions this year. I have to admit, I called mine goals. For some reason, I find the word goals less overwhelming than resolutions. To me a resolution means what you have to change. Where a goal suggests it is something to achieve. Bruce Lee stated that, “ A goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at.” Perhaps that is why I find the word goal less demanding. Although I really think it has more to do with my everyday job and writing yearly goals for kids.
More information on who is reading what:
I am reading James Patterson’s newest book The Lies He Told Me and have lined up Jill Shalvis newest book Better Than Friends to read next.
From one of my nieces and greats (nieces and nephews) down in Virginia they are reading a number of books. They both read and listen to books. Being a house of readers who love fantasy, I am never sure what they are going to read. My niece is reading Scythe. It is a book her kids have read and recommended to people. One great niece is rereading the Heroes of Olympus and Keeper of the Lost Cities. A great nephew is reading Ender’s Game and just finished The Impossible Quest. They balance listening and reading two different books! I find that remarkable.
Elise sent in an interview with Melissa Curtis about her newest book A Cowboy Santa. The holiday story is set up to be an enemy to lovers trope with the addition of mischievous small children. It is the sixth book in the Cowboy Academy series.
