First, a shout out to Elise for her thoughtful and quite poignant blog last week! I know many of us have animals who own our hearts and it is so hard to lose them.
Over the last couple of years, when the Sox are not playing, I have found myself drawn to home improvement shows.Each time I walk away confused by how people organize their shelves.First the fact they are organized, I mostly find humorous as mine are usually neat, but stacked in a particular order that makes sense to me with read (and keep) book mixed up with to be read books. Although saying that I do have a couple of shelves that are organized by use. All the animal, plant and bird guides are together.
I noticed on the reveals often the books are placed with the spine in. I guess it might be to give the show of the books, but not to allow anyone to make comments about the type of books. I think it looks kind of funny, but some of the new books that are coming out with sprayed edges will look cool.
The other method I saw that I am still just flabbergasted with are the shelves that are put together by color. All green books on one shelf and blue on another etc. I have admitted my method might be jumbled for someone, but organizing by color would be way too mixed up even for my random, abstract brain.
