OH NO! It is growing again.

I realized again today as I added another couple of books to my to-be-read list that I am crazy to think about reading all those books I have on the list.  I have (sigh) 1160 on my to-be-read list.  Those are just the ones I remembered to put on the list.  I have pieces of paper everywhere with suggested titles. I read Book Page, many book lists, and belong to an online book club. I make lists, plan with the library and Netgalley books.  Yet I am still falling further and further behind.

I figured out that I read 15 to 18 books a month (I used 16.5 in my calculations). There are 1160 books on my to-be-read list (SIGHING).  Then I divided. If I maintained about the same number of books each month. It would take me 71 months, or about 6 years to read all those books.

Here’s the hiccup.  What about the new books coming out, especially by some of my favorite authors? Do I stop reading new books and only focus on the older books? My answer would be a resounding NO.  I am not even sure how many books on the list that I am still interested in reading.  Soooo, maybe I should cull the list down? How long is your list?  Just curious…

Below find a list of other readers and their thoughts on their TBR list.  Thank you Amanda Greer for your thoughts on how to figure out how long it would take to read my to-be-read list.  BTW.  I don’t remember when I even looked at the list.  That might be a larger problem.

Elise Cooper sent in a review and an interview with Ward Larsen and his newest book, Tom Clancy’s Rules of Engagement.  Elise feels that the book is another book showing Jack Ryan moving the torch to the next generation. I find that interesting.
