New Blog:  Is it really summer?

Is it really summer?  The calendar says it is almost July.  The weather last week for three days suggested it was the season called hell (or summer).  Then we had a day when I was so cold I needed a sweatshirt.  So perhaps it is not sure what season it wants to be.   Meanwhile, I have started to make books as summer reads in hopes that it was truly summer.  I understand I am going to be HOT tomorrow too…  What a confusing beginning.

I have to admit I have been reading on my list of TBR from Net Galley.  I am ready to read the July books and a couple of books downloaded on my kindle from favorite authors.  This month’s books were a mixed bag.  Generally, I enjoyed them.  A couple were starting a new series or a new author and I was pleasantly surprised. (Easiest viewing of the covers is on pinterest https://www.pinterest.com/marjay7/my-reading-blog/ )   Notice also that the book reviews and author interviews (from Elise) are listed there as well.  It is interesting to me that slowly more murder mystery/thriller novels are entering my lists.

Meanwhile, since my wound is healing – I am able to go to the library again and have sent in a list of books I want to read this month (hopefully) the library will get them.  Tops on my list is The First Gentleman.  My bestie is ready to pick up the book from her library as it was on her list already. (I might be jealous!). Soon I hope.

Elise sent in a review and an author interview.  I think you will be pleased to see Elise also read The Summer Guest ( as I did a couple of weeks ago).  The best surprise for me was that Elise was able to interview Catherine Bybee with her newest book, No More Yesterdays.  It was an interesting interview and gave us hints about books in the future!  Whoo HOO.  I love Catherine Bybee books!
