This week in reading…
Well, I guess it is confession time… I broke my own rule about TBR (To Be Read) books. I cheated and skipped ahead. [Hangs head]
I read two great books this week (News of the World and The One and Only Vivian Stone). I enjoyed both of them, but knew it was time to address the rest of the TBR list for January. And then I saw it… Right There… YUP, the first book for February was Stolen in Death. JD Robb’s universe with Eve Dallas as the most kickass detective EVER with her HOT as in seriously HOT husband Roarke. I weakened just for a minute… I wanted to make sure the book was downloaded correctly ( wink, wink – just making sure) and had to check it out with the first chapter, to make sure there weren’t any errors downloading… Oh Yea and I read it. THE WHOLE THING. It was so good!
I do not get it! How does Nora Roberts manage after 61 books about Eve to still come up with a new and different storyline? I was hooked from the start! (It didn’t hurt that it met one of my Bingo Board squares – Starts at a Party.) For those who do not know, Nora Roberts and JD Robb are the same person.
Elise sent in a guest review of Murder Your Darlings by Jenna Blum. The book is described as being a thriller while maintaining her connection to historical novels. Jenna Blum describes writing a thriller as putting a puzzle together in your head. Elise also interviewed Lisa Childs highlighting several of her newest novels. What a great job of researching the novels!
Remember: Take the time to read this week!
