Never a Duke by Grace Burrowes is the seventh book in the series called Rogues to Riches. The series focuses on the Wentworth family and how they each found their mates. The novels can be read as stand alone novels without a problem.
Lady Rosalind Kinwood knows that something seems to be occurring to young ladies who are maids working in large houses. They are disappearing. Two of her maids have gone missing and others have shared a similar concern. On top of this, her family has determined that she really needs to marry and she needs to make herself more appealing to the right man. Rosalind goes to Ned Wentworth for help. She knows because of her reputation that he is the one person who can help her. He has a bunch of people working for him that can help look in the places that people are hidden.
Ned and Rosalind thrown together realize that they have feelings for each other. Ned also realizes that Rosalind is in danger, even if she doesn’t recognize it herself. Ned is determined to marry her and save her. Although it might be she saves him.
Never a Duke by Grace Burrowes is a good read. There is enough suspense, interesting characters and intrigue to keep a reader interested. Ned and Rosalind deserve their ‘happily ever after’.
