The Earl of Heathbrook has finally been set free after so many years held by the French in prison. After the war ended, he had to find a way back to England and restart his life. Now he is the Earl and working on getting physical custody of his younger brothers. The problem is he is still thought of as a rake.
Giselle Bernard is in England with forged papers. She is concerned for her safety and that of her mother and needs “real” papers. Being engaged to an Earl will work to keep her safe until she is able to get new papers. There is also an unknown following her, making her feel quite unsafe.
Meanwhile, they move to Heath’s country residence including her mother and his brothers. From here, things stay interesting and Giselle and Heath are struggling to stay away from each other, until they can’t.
