My Favorite Holidate by Lauren Blakely is a light hearted romance between two people who are struggling with needing and wanting each other. Both Wilder and Fable need a plus one. They are determined to keep their relationship platonic, but fate and their families keep interfering. It doesn’t help that they are constantly trying to look like a couple to fool their families. Looking like a couple and acting like a couple seems to fade the lines between pretend and real. Even though it is supposedly only for the wedding and holiday.
I love how hard both Wilder and Fable are trying to keep their relationship platonic instead of giving into the strong feelings they have for each other. I love how they slowly fall deeper and deeper into the mix of pretend and real. OH – and the villain for sure is Fable’s ex boyfriend. He is a nasty piece of work.
My Favorite Holidate is a contemporary light hearted romance. The novel moves along nicely and you end up really cheering for the couple. Wilder being a millionaire seems to have no problem spending money on things he feels will be fun or romantic for Fable. My Favorite Holidate by Lauren Blakely is a good read.
