Mad About Yule by Genny Carrick is a light hearted romance set during the holiday season. The troupe of moving from enemies to lovers is always interesting especially when you add nosy parents pushing them together. The main characters are likable and you find yourself cheering them on. The setting is a small town with lots of people who want to help and may gossip (Just a bit). This gossiping has put Hope in a negative position in the past, so she is determined to not fall into that again.
Meanwhile Hope has taken on the leadership in putting together a Christmas festival hoping to bring in lots of tourists who will bring in needed revenue to the town. Hope feels she is always being compared to her sister (the perfect one) and is determined to do this alone. However, one of the key members is unable to continue and Hope has to accept the help from Griffin. Her nemesis from school even though it was years ago.
Griffin’s mother volunteered him to build the village that Hope is looking to have made. The village is going to be backdrop to the festival with a place for Santa to sit and greet kids. As Griffin works and Hope helps their animosity slowly changes. They both begin to be cheerleaders to the other to help them boost confidence to move beyond their present plans.
Mad About Yule by Genny Carrick is a fun, sassy, heartwarming Christmas read.
