Just One Look is the 12th book in the Billionaire Barons of Texas. Chris Keniston has written another yummy book showing how being rich and being a good person can go together. The Barons are a famous and extremely rich family in Texas. There are about a dozen or so grandchildren who are the focus of the series as they find their happily ever after. Sometimes, The Governor and his wife have to help push the situation to their advantage, to get every grandchild married.
This book focuses on Devlin. He is a builder or really a developer by trade. With his family, he helps raise incredible amounts of money for charity. His best friend Emily usually helps out when he gets into a bind (Like the wrong person trying to buy him at a charity event for her nefarious purposes). However Emily’s twin is in town and he is in a bind so Liz bids for him and wins. Devlin didn’t realize that Liz and Emily were twins and while he feels nothing for Emily, there are serious zings around Liz.
Liz is a designer and loves older buildings and helping bring them to life. She has never met Devlin before and has the serious hots for them. However in this novel, The Barons are all in helping an owner of a local restaurant. The fire, of course, started when Devlin was bringing Liz out to eat at that steakhouse. Instead, Devlin helped the owner to help make sure everyone was safe. From there Devlin’s family works together and Liz is able to look beyond the money and into the hearts of the family and Devlin. My favorite scene in the book has to be when Liz and Courtney have an actual fight on the floor of the mansion.
Just One Look by Chris Keniston is a great addition to the wonderful series the Billionaire Barons of Texas.
