In the hospital

Today is my last day in the hospital, at least I hope.  I am planning on going home tomorrow with the blessing of the infectious disease doctors and the surgeons.  The time here has been much needed for healing and soaking in the love of friends and family.  The sun has poured in through the windows warming my back, while I am looking toward home.  It’s a funny thing being here.  Kind of like being stranded in time between here and there.  Not in either place, but somewhere in between.

The hospital is never quiet.  There are bells and alarms going off.  There are people speaking loudly.  There are people in the halls talking to each other. The best part is being woken up every so often so that people can read my vitals or the vampires come in to take my blood.  I have been tethered to machines and needed to drag them with me.  It is not restful at all!

I have had time to read. Although, I have not written up each book I read.  I have done word puzzles, and worked on crocheting. I am done – ready to move home even if I am alone and have no one waiting on me.  Perhaps the cats won’t ignore me, because I have been gone.

Elise has sent in an interview from Lily Graham about her newest book, The Only Light in London.  I found the interview quite interesting.  Elise also sent in a review of the Oligarch’s Daughter by Joseph Finder.  The book sounds like it might be quite a thrilling read.  The fact that it takes place in New Hampshire, just makes it better.

It is my hope that I am able to pick up my blog and reviews weekly as I have in the past.  Meanwhile, find the time to read.
