Chinese Proverb or Curse

Well another interesting week!  The Chinese proverb about living in interesting times can go pound sand. Although as a curse it does make more sense! It doesn’t help that I am missing a cat and am quite worried about him.  I am participating in the American Cancer Society Read Everyday in August to help raise money.  So far I have been able to accomplish the task.

Although I have to admit, reading a cosy mystery has been my saving grace.  I found a new series by Lucy Connelly called Scottish Isle Mystery.  The main character is an American doctor, Dr Emilie McRoy.  She was the head of the Emergency Department in a large hospital in Seattle, but due to the direction her life was taking, she knew she needed a new start.  Sea Isle, Scotland was where she went.  A very small town in Scotland where she has begun to find her new life.  I  have totally enjoyed the books. (Three are published to date.)

Elise and I have spent time watching our teams play against each other this weekend.  The San Diego Padres won 2 games and the Boston Red Sox won 1 game. We are hoping to watch our teams again in the World Series. Yet it might be a pipe dream.

Elise sent in a book review of Green Pastures by Patricia Johns.  The novel is about three sisters who are living in a tight Amish community where everyone has an opinion and shares it.  The interview this week is with Dana Mentink and her newest novel Fire Mountain.  The novel sounds like a true adventure/thriller/romance novel that will keep you right on the edge of your seat.
Please take the time to read.  If you wish to make a donation to the American Cancer Society and the Read Everyday in August please get in contact with me and I will help make that happen.  (https://www.facebook.com/AmericanCancerSociety).
