Long time friends Tessa, Kate, and Hallie are all that is left of their book group. They are besties and spend each weekly meeting sharing books and thoughts about life. Each has a job that makes them kind of, sort of happy. They live in New York City and are there for each other.
After finishing a new book about a woman who takes charge of her life, each of them decide to do the same and live a more authentic lifestyle. ONLY as you can imagine, it is not easy to start over or change the images that they had to the images that they want. Each runs into road blocks, some of them significant, and only has the others to help bolster them.
The book shares the journey each woman makes and I have to admit it showed a lot of courage for each of these women to change. I was especially impressed with how they managed to stay on their new course when giving up would have been easier. Tessa, Kate and Hallie succeed beyond their own perceptions and find their places in this new reality.
I loved the book! I found the journeys of each of the women realistic with their struggles. Book Club Confidential by Julie Hatcher was a good read.
