The Wynchesters are their own people. They were all adopted by a kind and considerate man who encouraged their endeavors and allowed them to be their own person. As a family the various talents they have allows them to help solve mysteries and track down people. They have a strong inroad to the tonne but struggle with following laws. Each sibling has their own superpower.
In this novel Jacob Wynchester has met his match, Vivian Henry is a former slave and a playwright. She has been taking care of her cousin until he no longer needs her. He is obsessed with the Wynchesters, so when he does not return home, Vivian goes to the Wynchesters to demand their help. The only problem is that she doesn’t approve of how they break the rules and feels they are not focusing on what is important. She goes there everyday to help them stay on task and the straight and narrow. But they are the Wynchesters so nothing is a smooth straight line.
Vivian is afraid for her cousin’s life. The blackmail that keeps showing up to force people to change their votes is somehow tied to him, but how? Vivian and Jacob are quite interesting together, but will they be able to work together? A Waltz on the Wild Side by Erica Ridley is a good read.
