A Most Unsuitable Suitor by Emma Orchard is an historical romance. England during the early 1800s was full of rules and expectations during the “season”. However, each of the main characters have a twist in their parentage that if known would destroy them and their family.
It is the second season for nineteen-year-old Allegra Constantine. She knows she must wed this season. Money is tight and she has sisters who still need to have their season. Her mother is determined that all will have a chance to marry well (at least according to the tonne standards). She is going to be surprised by what she learns about her family.
Max Severin is always there – watching her. She finds herself watching him back. He is mysterious, but yet someone she is quite drawn to. Max has his own hidden parentage to protect. He keeps telling her he is not able to marry anyone, but is more than willing to kiss her again and again and again.
How to resolve this? Well unknown forces, a little deception and help from the true family. The book keeps you guessing until the end to see if true love wins. A Most Unsuitable Suitor by Emma Orchard was a good read.
