A Ferry Merry Christmas by Debbie Macomber

A Ferry Merry Christmas by Debbie Macomber is a wonderful contemporary holiday book with romance.   Most of the novel takes place on a ferry that has broken down.  The novel follows several story lines as the ferry wallows in Puget Sound waiting for parts and fixing.  The novel mostly takes place over one day before Christmas. There are multiple stories that are all happening at the same time.

The most prominent story is about Avery and Reed.  Avery is meeting her brother, Reed in Seattle.  That means she needs to take the ferry over.  This will be their first Christmas without their Grandmother who raised them.  Only the ferry breaks down ½ way.  Through a series of events we are introduced to both characters as they meet other characters.  By the end of the ferry crossing, we are introduced to a man who is unable to reach his wife in labor, a couple who are estranged and various other characters.  Each with a story of need or want.

The stories of the characters make you wish and hope.  They wrap up  a few days after the ferry finally makes it, most with a Christmas wish.  The book is full of heartfelt stories and resolutions.  Each one guaranteed to lift your heart.  A Ferry Merry Christmas by Debbie Macomber is a lovely holiday novel to help celebrate Christmas.
