HollowBones by Jodi Picoult

Hollow Bones by Jodi Picoult is heart wrenching while still managing to be a celebration of life.  As always Jodi Picoult manages to weave in a modern day concern intermeshed with the characters within a book flawlessly.  This story does address women’s health concerns or lack of them to be more precise.  The story is told in two storylines which allows the past and the present to intermingle.

The main character is Molly, a child born right before the World Trade Towers fell. An adult who is able to address a variety of public health concerns quickly identifying the missing elements and dealing with finding them.  She is married to a man who understands her and loves her.

However, her mother has disappeared, presumed dead after the towers fell.  Her father remarries her mother’s best friend to help Molly and himself move forward.  This is a story about family, love and what we pass onto our daughters.

Hollow Bones by Jodi Picoult might be one of her best books!  I loved the premise, the presentation of knowledge and characters and the storyline.  I wanted more of what happened next, but understood the story was complete.  Hollow Bones by Jodi Picoult is a read that stays with you for a long time.
