A Date With Santa by Debbie Macomber is a wonderful Christmas story about love and family and being open to “the one”. There is romance, Christmas Magic and family. Sage Madison learns about Christmas through her nephew.
Sage’s sister is deployed and due to other family circumstances, Sage is needed to care for her nephew, Ricky. He is five and has certain ideas how things are done. Sage’s ideas are totally different, but she attempts to resolve each concern and help Ricky stay positive even though his mother might be gone thru Christmas.
Sage’s job is another concern. She is up for a promotion and the man she is competing against uses every unfair advantage he can find or create. Meanwhile, Sage has Ricky to pick up from daycare and can not put in the hours that in the past she has worked. Then there is Ethan, a serious temptation and Sage struggles with maintaining boundaries. Ethan is terrific with Ricky and that just makes everything harder.
Sage learns about Christmas beyond the store bought, brand new, sparkling glitter that she has always accepted. Ricky brings her new hope and maybe even a new romance with Ethan. A Date With Santa by Debbie Macomber is a good read.
