I have spent time singing the praises of authors I know and love. I have not focused on authors that are new to me! I like reading new authors and will choose a few every so often or so to try out. I have listed a few ‘new to me’ authors. Feel free to send me some new authors to read!
I have been asked about finding new authors and I have to admit that I do not usually seek them out, but neither do I avoid them. I always talk about books with friends and might find something new from them. I also pay attention to the Book Page from the library and books that the librarian might have out to “catch the eye”. There are all sorts of podcasts and book groups on Instagram and Facebook. Recently a friend helped me download Libby and showed me how she found new books and authors. Woohoo
However, usuallyI get recommendations from one of two major sources: Goodreads and/or Netgalley. There I am exposed to huge numbers of books put out in various genres and by various authors. Often new writers are highlighted in some way. The hard part is not trying to read too many new authors at a time or pledge to read too many books in a month. SIGH.
