The Tomorrow Tree by Carolyn Brown was on Amazon First Reads. chose the book based on the cover, the description and the author. The Tomorrow Tree is a small town book, with best friends to lovers, and choosing your family by love not blood. It has all the hallmarks of a small town novel with gossiping, backstabbing “rich” women, and a community that cares about everyone (Despite the first two descriptors).
Tina, Walker and Gracie were all besties growing up. They were cared for by Cleo and Mae as if they were precious and loved. After High School, things changed and despite attempts Tina fell off the map for a number of years.
Tina shows up one day as she was driving through and was convinced to stay again with Cleo and Mae so the pals can get back together. There is a lot of time and feelings that get in the way but the friends work their way back to each other: Gracie, a kindergarten teacher is in love, Walker is running the Hardware Shop and Cleo and Mae are older.
The novel takes us on a journey of self discovery and growth as each faces the future in their small town with love and hope. The Tomorrow Tree by Carolyn Brown is a good read.
