The Scandal of the Summer by Alexandria Vesti

The Scandal of the Summer by Alexandria Vesti is an historical romance set in England.  The rich countryside and the strict rules of the tonne are key elements in the novel.  Cornwall and blissful freedom are hard to come by.  It is the first book in the series called Flirty Rotten Scoundrels

Lady Ruby Ballimore just can’t seem to help herself.  Yet again she has offended another prospective bridegroom and worse yet a person of importance to her father.  She knows that this can’t continue to happen.  In desperation, she and a couple of friends decide to pretend they are ladies-in-waiting to an obscure princess and travel to live in her house for the summer.

Former privateer and current con artist Captain Malcolm Archer was “making antiques” and selling them to men of quality who didn’t know the difference. Of course Lady Ruby Ballimore recognized the difference and pointed it out at a large party in front of all his potential clients.  Now he is back at the house he helps care for where an obscure princess has a house.

Both parties are lying about why they are there.  Both parties don’t really want to upset anything, they just want to be left alone!  Until royalty starts to appear.  Then things get really really messy!  The Scandal of the Summer by Alexandria Vesti is sure to be a problem for Ruby and Archer.
