It Could Have Been Her by Lisa Jewell

It Could Have Been Her by Lisa Jewell is a seriously twisted read.  The book alternates between the past and the present.  The main character Jane Trevally is searching for what is going to come next in her life.  She knows she needs to move on from her current situation, but many questions remain.

The setting of the book really revolves around Thornwood, a house in Hampstead.  Jane recognizes the house and remembers how lucky she was to leave safely.  However, there is a missing person who lives in the house and has disappeared.  The story twists from there.

I did feel the beginning dragged a bit and was ready to jump into the book wholeheartedly, however once the book was about ½ done, I really got into the story and didn’t want to put the book down.  I am curious to see if Jane is going to be a recurring character.  It Could Have Been Her by Lisa Jewell was an interesting read.
