Enter the Nightmare by Jayne Castle is another wonderful read set in Harmony (#18). And yes, there are dust bunnies causing mischief. The two main characters meet while Owen March saves Alice Radstone from certain death at the Hotel of Dreams.
Alice Radstone has been determined to have killed her husband and is put into an asylum. Only she didn’t and was framed. Being determined and crafty Alice escapes and visits the scene of the crime, only to almost be killed and kidnapped a second time. Owen helps her escape and together they are determined to find out what is happening. Unfortunately neither can go back to their normal life while people are hunting them, trying to kill them, so they improvise.
Forced proximity and solving a mystery are two of my favorite tropes that Jayne Castle uses. I love how her characters are quirky and usually have an unusual paranormal talent that ends up saving the day. This novel had some interesting twists and turns that kept it moving right along. I loved all the scenes with the Dust Bunny being returned after having fun in Vegas with all his friends. Enter the Nightmare by Jayne Castle was a fun, fast, quirky read!
