Summer State of Mind by Kristy Woodson Harvey is just a good read. The characters, storyline, secrets and the wonderful marshes of North Carolina hold you. You will laugh, cry, cringe, sigh and fall in love with the characters, while worrying about what you just know is going to happen.
As a NICU nurse for babies in a busy hospital, Daisy needed a new start, so she moved to the quiet of Cape Carolina. Mayson Thaysden had it all until he lost it, now he is restarting in his hometown as the varsity baseball coach. Of course they connect and seem to have found a path forward together, except for a ‘couple’ of secrets.
Mayson’s family is a hoot. Aunt Tillie’s character is so right on. I love her attitude, even when she is struggling. I enjoyed the storyline and how the secrets just popped out seemingly from nowhere. Daisy’s connection to the infant Maisey was the only sticky point I had, but I loved how the ladies helped out.
Summer State of Mind by Kristy Woodson Harvey is about a small town on the shore with lots of great characters and a kicking storyline. Such a great read for your summer state of mind.
