The Halifax Hellions is a historical romance made up of two novellas: In Which Margo Halifax Earns Her Shocking Reputation and In Which Matilda Halifax Learns the Value of Restraint. The “hellions” are Margo and Matilda Halifax. They have the worst reputation and seem to throw all conventions to the wind, but what is less known is their hearts of gold.
The first novella is called In Which Margo Halifax Earns Her Shocking Reputation. It is slightly shorter than her sister’s book. Margo thinks that Matilda is eloping to Greta Green with an inappropriate man. Margo is going to save her with the help of a family friend. Henry is in love with Margo and has been for years. Nothing like a carriage ride for days, forced proximity.
The second novella: In Which Matilda Halifax Learns the Value of Restraint is about Matilda. She lied to her twin. She was not running away to elope, but to help Christian by becoming his sister’s art tutor. Only things did take an interesting turn in this novella as well. Oh – and there is a cat.
The Halifax Hellions was a good read.
