Bluebird Gold by Devney Perry is the first book in a new series called Lost Legends. The book takes place in Dalton, Montana during the 1980s. It is both a romance and a thriller. The main characters of Cosi and Ilsa were fun to read about! Some of the tropes were small town romance, opposites attract and single dad/teacher.
Ilsa’s father died and he left her with his cabin on a lake in Dalton, Montana. She has agreed to take a substitute math job in the High School and use the downtime to clean out the cabin. Having been pretty much estranged from her father after her parents were divorced means she is searching for him and closure.
Cosi is the Police Chief. He is a single dad with a teenage son. He is called out to Ilsa’s cabin when she sees someone looking in the windows one snowy night. No tracks, no marks, nothing to suggest that there was a peeping Tom. Then things get even more interesting with the cabin being broken into.
Cosi only knows he can not leave her out there alone to be terrorized. He can’t stop thinking about her. He is determined to figure out what is going on. The problem is that he can’t keep his hands off her! But there is something happening with her father’s cabin and legacy.
Bluebird Gold is a great start to a thrilling romance. I love how it takes place in the 80s as it feels more present with lack of technology. I enjoyed all the characters, especially Cosi’s teenage son. Bluebird Gold by Devney Perry is a good read.
