A Week of Holiday Reads

This week despite or maybe in spite of library due dates, I took a break from my ever increasing to-be-read list.  Don’t worry, I still found great books to read!  I decided to veer off and read Christmas novellas and books.  I have loved all the ones I have found and still have a few left to read. I am quite looking for to The Christmas Guest.  It is supposed to be really good.

New from this week

  • Snow Place Like Home by Laura Pavlov

Romance – The main characters had a crush on each other in the past. After seeing each other again after many years there is still a spark.

  • All Wrapped Up in You by Rosie Danan

  • The Christmas Cowboy by Melinda Curtis

Romance – The main characters meet and agree to fake-date through the town’s 12 parties of Christmas only to start to fall in love.

  • Second Chance Scottish by Tricia O’Malley

Romance – This is a second chance romance between two people who were in love.  THey met again years later back in their hometown.

  • Merry and Bright byAli Rosen

Romance – Two people meet on a plane and agree to fake date each other to help them get through the holidays.  THe booth celebrates both Hanukkah and Christmas

Reviewed Prior

  • Mad About Yule by Gennie Carrick
  • The 13th Gift by Joanne Huist Smith
  • The Last Christmas in Paris by Hazel Gaylor and Heather Webb

AND the cool part is that I have a few left to read.  I found a bunch more great short Christmas reads  on Kindle Unlimited.  How awesome is that!

Elise sent in an interview with Melinda Curtis this week.  The interview revolves around her newest Christmas Novel (yes, I read it too and quite enjoyed it.), The Christmas Cowboy.  The nephew, Ford is a riot and brings a smile to the reader almost every time he speaks.

I really had to stretch my brain one day this week with the NYT Wordle.  A five letter word with the vowel y and two r’s. It drove me a bit cuckoo.  Luckily the Christmas season helped me answer the puzzle in time! Who knew – myrrh.

I wish everyone a joyous season!  Remember books are the bestest of presents!
