Innocence Road by Laura Griffin is another great book by an author who knows how to draw out the reader’s attention! The beginning of the book catches you and the roller coaster ride to figuring it out is so worth it!
Leanne Everhart swore she would never return to her small town of Marfa, Texas, but she has. She joined the police force despite the “old boys’ network”. The rich, white locals run the town.
Leanne finds a dead woman on the side of the road. Her police chief and others poo poo as if it is not important, after all they are facing a lawsuit about a wrongful conviction. However, Leanne perseveres and through questioning and doggedness, she discovers that this is not the first and she suspects not the last.
She was right and soon there are more bodies and parts that are found. Leanne is finding out more and more and still no one is willing to put in any work and listen to her.
Then things get creepier (if possible) and the story picks up speed. I struggled to put down the book and accomplish any of the chores I had lined up to do. I just wanted to read the book! Laura Griffin knows how to write thrillers! Innocence Road by Laura Griffin is a good read.
