The Bridesmaid by Cate Quinn was the October thriller novel for me. A wedding where the bridesmaids are “interesting” and are not necessarily all friends. A group of women with one element in common, and it seems that one of them is a killer. It starts with the announcement of a celebrity wedding. One that is going to be the wedding of the century. Of course there was a bridezilla with these incredibly outrageous designs and demands.
The main character of the story was Holly Stone. She was basically hired to replace the bridesmaid who was killed while searching for clues around her death. The Bridesmaids fly off to a private island where they are going to celebrate the bride and later the wedding. There are secrets to uncover, outrageous outfits to change into, photos of “a good time” to be taken all while there is an undercurrent of anger and terror.
As more people are endangered, it is clear that this wedding comes at a high price. The Bridesmaid by Cate Quinn was a ‘who dun it’ with a seriously deranged air of violence and secrets. I read the book quickly, like I had to know the end, before I even had been properly horrified. The Bridesmaid by Cate Quinn is one crazy read!
The book comes out early November. The opinions in this review are my own. An ARC novel was given to me by the publisher.
