She’s Going to Pay by Alexandra Ivy

She’s Going to Pay by Alexandra Ivy is a “who dun it”  with lots of twists and turns.  Jesse Hudson left her hometown in Missouri, after her father disappeared.  She was just overwhelmed by the loss of her father after he was exonerated from the death of her step mother and step sister.  Jesse survived by moving around from one situation to another bartending.

Jesse is feeling pressure, the lawyer wants to wrap up the case as her dad has been gone for many years.  Her boyfriend wants her to sell the bar and buy a decrepit building for a fancy bar. Jesse just wants to know what happened to her father.  She moves back and begins the process of cleaning out things.  However, it feels like someone is watching her, intent on hurting her.  Various people in town are involved, some good, some bad.  However the lines are not as distinct and Jesse has to struggle to figure out what is happening and who she can trust.
I enjoyed the novel and found myself guessing who I thought was on what side.  There were some interesting twists that opened more confusion into what really happened.  She’s Going to Pay by Alexandra Ivy is a good read.
