Overdue by Stephanie Perkins

Overdue by Stephanie Perkins  is a contemporary romance.  While its setting is ambiguous and could be any small town, it is set  in North Carolina. The town is large enough to have several areas and more than one library.  The main characters are Macon Nowakowski and Ingrid Dahl.  They both work together (sitting next to each other)  at the library at the circulation desk.  The book is broken down in the months starting with January.

Ingrid has been in a relationship with Cory for a long time, however they never seem to talk about marriage.  They decide to take a break from each other and see other people to make sure it is right between them.  Ingrid struggles with meeting men and finally joins a dating site.  Meanwhile she determines that working in the library does not bring her joy and she would prefer to work in a bookstore.  AND her rent becomes unaffordable.  There are so many problems for her to handle, but Macon seems to be there for her no matter what.

I liked the characters and the setting of the library/bookstore/stone cottage.  There was a strong element of being environmentally sound and having a vegetable main diet, which seemed right in character for them!  There was also a cat involved. 8).   In all, I found the book charming.

The book, Overdue by Stephanie Perkins, comes out on the seventh of October.  It is a good read.
