Living the Dream

Living the Dream:  I have a friend who says that expression a lot.  Sometimes (maybe often) with sarcasm.  Certainly on the outset the expression means things are good or on top of the world.  I think today might fit that expression for me.

I had coffee with a friend this morning, who delivered groceries (thank you Rose Indigo)!   It was wonderful to spend time with a friend who is low key and interesting!

I ended up organizing my dishes, trying to put them where they belong (Marti logic)!  I also took a nap, worked on crocheting a mushroom, drank loads of water, kept my foot up and watched TWO baseball games!  Yes, the Sox played twice today (rain out yesterday) and won both games.  I saw some of my favorite players have great days and they ruled doubles!

This week I read some new and interesting books and authors.  The Seven O’Clock Club had a wicked surprising twist.  Three Days in June had a neurodivergent main character who struggled with the days surrounding her daughter’s wedding.  I froze with the characters in Fun for the Whole Family when they were in the blizzard in North Dakota on vacation (you need to read it to understand).  Summer Light on Nantucket brought me to the beach with the sun and sand and water. I could almost smell the salty water.

While I still can’t drive, have a wound machine to carry everywhere with me, and still can’t do everything I want,  I am living the dream.  A time apart from the hustle and bustle of life where I can reflect, nap and read.  The cats still mostly want to cuddle with me (Yoshi is less forgiving of me needing to move).  However, this is a short term dream… not a long term dream!

Elise sent in a wonderful interview with Jenn Bregman.  Her new book called The Last Hamilton includes conspiracies, intrigues, and secret societies.  The Guest Review is Rhys Bowen’s novel called Silent as the Grave. It is sure to be a book to read.

Sometimes for a short time – you can live the dream.
