New Blog: Cleaning up some shelves of books

This week I have been cleaning up my to-be-read shelves.  Now before you begin to think that I have lost my mind (which is possible), I mean I have been reading books on my kindle that have been there for a while, and need to be read and returned to Kindle Unlimited.  This has led to a mixed bag of books including a couple I have read before but forgot about, a couple of new Christmas reads, and finishing up another series.

I finished up the Culpepper Series with the five sisters/cousins finding their true love. Colette Cameron’s novels about the Culpepper family were fun to read.  Somehow she made each of the main characters different enough to make the stories read as a family, but not too much alike.  I found the novels a quick read with just enough spiciness to enjoy.

I reread the two Knight and Moon novels by Janet Evanovich.  According to Goodreads, I had read them before, but I didn’t remember them.  After finishing the novels, I remember parts of them.  A rich eccentric dude who was all about conspiracies and a younger fresh faced person hired to help him stay in line, deal with a number of interesting bad men, determined to take over the world in various ways.  Of course the good prevail.

Lastly I finished a couple of quick, but very satisfying historical romances.  I have only a couple of more weeks to clean off some of my past reading goals before I move on to reading new and to be published novels.  In looking ahead I have some humdingers coming up quickly, so I am excited.  This year I planned to read 150 books and so far I am over that by 25 books.  There have been some really nice reads.

The next 3 reads are all Jayne Anne Krentz novels and I am so excited.  I love her novels that include the quirky world of paranormal incidents.  The characters are always different and not run of the mill.  I am so enjoying the novels.

Elise has been busy reading, writing and interviewing.  She sent in an interview with Kristi Jones about her first book, Murder in the Ranks.  The novel has it all;  spies, murder, WAACs, and romance.  There is also a new guest review of Rhys Bowen’s book,  We Three Queens.

In this season of giving, I wish you to give yourself time to read!
