World of Peace Tartan

As I sit here wrapped up in my tartan ruana, I am ruminating about the changing of the season to the dark time of year.  I am not thrilled with being cold either, but that is for the best use of sweatshirts.  The colors in fall are so bold and sometimes breathtaking, but so short lived, much like this season.  Already I am looking forward to the spring even though the fall just started and we haven’t even moved our clocks back yet.  That’s when the true hard days come, when you get up and drive to work in the dark and drive home in the  dark and close yourself inside.  As much as I lament this time, I know I am not going to move to a warmer climate… so I need to just get over it, at least for now.

I have been practicing the gift of tidying up.  Now don’t jump to the conclusion that my house is neat, clean and organized.  It is still the home that looks like a “crime has been committed.” I am trying in small steps and ways. Everytime I get up – I pick up something and put it away or at least get it to the place it belongs.  At this rate, by spring training I should be on my way.  LOL

I have found the reading this week pleasant and brought me joy.  Once again Catherine Ryan Hyde has written a book that gave me a chance to look at the best of people knowing that our lives are always a work in process.  I am not sure how she can be so prolific and yet maintain her positiveness.

Elise sent in a wonderful review of Blue Christmas Bones by Carolyn Haines.  There is a wonderful interview with Anna J Stewart and her newest book, Hunting Colton’s Witness.  The book sounds interesting.   I have to admit that how the books were written was interesting to me as well.

I hope everyone takes the time to read this week.  Oh, the tartan I am wearing is called World Peace Tartan.  My wish for the world.
