The Forgotten One by Catherine Bybee is the second book in the series called The Heirs. The novel focuses on Max, the missing son of the Stone family. Max is suspicious and angry. He does not believe he is the missing heir. He is positive he is being scammed, but the more questions he asks the more he is beginning to believe them. His half siblings Alex and Chase are determined to include him in everything.
Sarah McNeilly is writing for a tabloid. She hates the fact that most of the tabloids write rumors as facts and is determined to not be that type of journalist. However it is clear that her boss wants her to write about the Stone family with a goal of uncovering serious dirt, even if it is not true. In her investigation, she meets Max and slowly begins a friendship with him. Using the information Max gives her to write stories about them, until her boss opens up a mess. A mess that Max and Sarah need to find their way through. The siblings close in and fight for their inheritance and the people who work for them.
I enjoyed the novel and the characters of Max and Sarah. I love how their siblings bonded together despite all the odds. The Forgotten One by Catherine Bybee is a great read.
