Stolen in Death by JD Robb

It is hard to believe that JD Robb has written 62 books in her series about Eve Dallas.  Each story contains many of the same characters and their presence is a treasured part of the narrative. The part that is so wonderful is each book is a new and interesting case of homicide that is twisted and varied.  The type of reading that precludes any other activity.

Stolen in Death by JD Robb starts off with Roarke and Eve at a fancy gala to raise money.  Eve of course HATES it but understands she needs to be there -the marriage rules.  Luckily some of her favorite people are also there so she is able to enjoy her time, until she is called out for a murder.  Nathan Barrister was bludgeoned to death by an unknown assailant and a secret vault full of stolen treasures is open.  The one item that is missing happens to be one item that Roarke might have helped steal.

Eve with the help of Peabody, Roarke and the rest of the team start to tease apart the layers of the situation and it becomes clearer that this was not a simple theft and killing, but something much more intricate and nuanced.  The end is pure Eve kicking butt and taking names!

Stolen in Death is a GREAT read.  Buckle in for the story – oh and Eve driving…

The book is scheduled for release in February.
